Over 70 young people from 33 countries of WHO European Region came together in Vienna, Austria for the International Youth Conference on Environment, Health and Mobility, which took place on 27-28 November 2016.
The aim of the Youth Conference was to provide the input of youth into the Ministerial Declaration on Environment and Health, as well as to elaborate and collectively endorse the Youth Position Paper on Environment and Health (Vienna Youth Position Paper), including a Youth Commitment to Act.
The Vienna Youth Position Paper contains what young people call for the ministers to commit to in the Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health, which will take place in June 2017 in Czech Republic. It also contains a detailed list of commitments that we, as young people, are ready to do in order to support the implementation and achievement of priority objectives so as to achieve a cleaner and healthier environment for us all.
The outcome documents of the International Youth Conference have been submitted to the Member States for discussion and adoption during the 6th Meeting of the European Environment and Health Task Force, which is taking place on 29-30 November 2016 in Vienna.
